Houston

On Friday we left Oklahoma and drove back through Texas as we headed to our next destination.  We made the trip so that we could pass through Houston, since that is where Ryan served his mission.
We got in pretty late at night and spent hours just driving through his last area that he spent the last year of his mission serving in.
It was so much fun to watch him light up just seeing those familiar streets.  We drove up and down each one as he told me stories.  He pointed out houses of people he taught and baptized, showed me where his apartment was, drove along the paths him and his companion would ride their bikes down, and told me of the good spots in that town that he would eat at.
We got a hotel to stay the night and the next morning before we headed back on the road we went and did it all again!
As we left he kept saying that he could not believe it's been 4 years since he was there because it felt like he was just driving down those same streets last week.
I loved being able to visit the place where my husband served so faithfully for 2 years of his life.  It was so cool to be able to put a picture to the stories that he was telling me.  Just by listening to his stories I know that he was the greatest missionary ever!
