On Friday night we went to the Kahuku state championship football game. It was crazy! They got to play at the UH stadium and there were a TON of red raider fans that filled it up. They played Punahou which is the high school that President Obama graduated from.
It was an exciting game and Kahuku won 30-24.
We were reppin our Kahuku colors with Bubba.
The craziest part about the whole game was the 'after party'. The whole hour ride home everybody was honking their horns, jumping in the bed of their trucks, and waving their Kahuku colors out of their car windows. Kahuku high school serves the towns of Ka'a'awa, Kahana, Punalu'u, Hau'ula, Laie, Kahuku, and Sunset so the whole North shore was pretty much partying that night. It was pretty cool how much the whole town celebrates.
Once we finally made it back we went to the high school with some of Ryan's cousins to check out the party. Everybody was standing at the intersection of the school screaming and cheering as cars drove by honking their horns.
There were fire works going off, music blasted, and there were even fire dancers!
Right in the middle of the intersection.
Some people would drive through, stop, get out of their cars, jump on top of their cars and start dancing
Literally the whole town was out till at least 3 in the morning celebrating.
Even a member of our stake presidency admitted over the pulpit yesterday at church that he was out there till 3 a.m. It was wild, I have never seen a town so proud of their football team. It was quite the experience, and we had a lot of fun.
